It seems to have seized up on the shaft. Rotate the cresent wrench to the right so it's up tight against the cabinet or drum roller shaft. When i used these steps i never had to use a mechanical wheel puller.

It's Easy To See Why.

The back or pulley side of the motor has a hex on the outer end which you can put a large socket on and hopefully apply enough torque to loosen the blower wheel off the threaded shaft. I had an issue with my dryer motor (the notorious 5 seconds on, 2 min off) and ordered a new motor. I also use a good hub puller but a good one will likely cost almost as much as a new blower wheel.

The Last Time It Got Jammed On Good.

I had to use some pb blaster, braced my feet against the housing, and pulled as hard as i could. Attach puller to the hub, use a ratchet/channelocks/adjustables, while holding the puller to turn the top screw downwards to push the shaft out of the hub. Hold the armature with a wrench or vice grips so it cannot rotate.

Flat Screwdriver And A Hammer.

Clean out any lint in the fan. Keep on turning until you're either exhausted and your chest is burning or the motor shaft comes out of the hub, whichever comes first. I Will Also Add To Be Sure And Sand Off All The Rust On The Shaft Tail So You Aren’t Dragging The Hub Through Any More Rust Than Necessary.

Dryer doesn’t dry clothes properly. If that does not remove it, hold a 2x4 against end of shaft and tap board with hammer to jar it loose. Because it's not really attached to anything now.

Changed Out Wheel With A Replacement.

The only possible way to get it off would be to smash the blower housing off from around the fan and cut off or smash off the fan leaving just the remnanats of plastic around the nut. Perhaps it will catch the threads and let you unscrew it. (1) loosened the set screw and oil the shaft with penetrating oil.
